Hi from Deck and Dak!
Would you believe Sadie caught multiple moths in our yard this week? She just went out with a net and then brought the moths into our house 😳 I even caught it on video!
We’ve been doing some adventuring this week right in our yard, our city, and the kids have been adventurous with new-to-them food!
Sadie did some adventuring by nature journaling in our yard. She packed a backpack with a notepad and markers and found different things like flowers, twigs, and weeds and would draw pictures of them.
We did a fun geography lesson! This sparked questions about the continent of Asia. Sadie has a fascination with all things Japanese and Asian in general.
Sader Tot is a notoriously picky eater but was suddenly open to trying Asian food?! I jumped on the idea and we bought sushi, pork dumplings, chow mein, and chopsticks! She really wanted to film her and Mordecai trying the food out, so here’s seven minutes of kid chaos!
Both kids loved the chow mein noodles, Sadie liked the pork dumplings, and Mordecai loved the sushi! Jimmy and I decided we want to take them to a hibachi restaurant to see their reactions to the fire and cooking in front of them!
I got adventurous with ketchup. Sriracha ketchup to be exact! It’s delish.
We also adventured out to our city. We visited a coffee shop and a bookstore!
Why are bookstores just the best? And libraries. Basically anywhere with books makes me one happy gal.
Speaking of books, I’m almost finished with The True Love Experiement (romance novel) and just started A Million Tiny Moments (reflections on motherhood) and Cover Him (marriage book). What are you currently reading?
Sadie and I read Beacons of Light: Lighthouses and this lighthouse nerd (me 🙋🏼♀️) loved it! We then drew and designed our very own lighthouse called “Mommy Sadie Light.”
Hi from Dakota being cute.
I made cherry pies this week and found the coolest invention: a pie crust bag. It helped me make perfectly circular and even crusts with my favorite crust recipe.
Sadie has been working on writing a story using this kit. She is very excited! I love seeing her imagination come to life.
We visited Jimmy at work and Dakota fell asleep. I wish I could sleep that peacefully anywhere haha.
Last but not least, I have a new decor piece. A macrame wall hanging! I wish I knew how to make things like this. Someday I’ll learn!
Okay, that’s it for this random post! We’re driving home from Bible study and then doing the bedtime routine with the kids. Sadie is going to fairy garden camp tomorrow and I can’t wait to hear all about the fun she gets up to!

literally laughed out loud multiple times during the kids Japanese food video. They’re def both naturals in front of the camera!
love all the pics too

Me too! I wish I could film them all day long because they say the funniest stuff!
