I love getting creative with chocolate covered Oreos! Here’s how the batch came out for the order I was practicing for.
Jimmy’s birthday is coming up and he requested cherry pie, so I made that happen this week! I used my favorite (easy!) pie crust recipe found here.
Filled it up with some cherries 🍒
Topped it with the top crust, brushed it with egg, and sprinkled it with turbinado cane sugar and voilà!
I also made a Stitch cake for my niece’s sixth birthday!
Moments from this week:
Look how tall Sadie is getting. She still asks me to hold her sometimes and I always will 🥹
She was holding a card she made from her card making kit. We love playing with paper, glue, and such together!
We had some chilly and rainy weather, so we spent some time playing with clay! Sadie made a hamburger and flower. I am always inspired by how creative she is 🌺
Dakota was big enough (and it was chilly enough in MAY 🥶) to wear the infamous raccoon pajamas that Sadie and Mordecai have worn.
It’s an answered prayer to see these sweeties in the same pajamas 🩵
Sadie and I did some artwork from this book while we were at the homeschool room this week!
Speaking of homeschooling, we are *almost* done for the year! I’ll have to work on a post reflecting on how it went. I am already looking forward to planning for next year… after a little break 😬
More chilly weather during the week meant afternoons spent doing a sticker book with Sadie while Dakota fed and Mordecai napped. I love snuggling on our bed!
I also filmed a video interviewing Sadie! It’s always fun to pick her brain and hear her answer to questions about what she likes to do, what she wants to be when she grows up, and what she thinks about things.
I just love these people!
And last but not least, Dakota and I wore matching dresses to church.
The dress Dakota is wearing used to be Sadie’s dress. I found a picture from 2019 with Sader Tot and I matching. How did she grow up so fast 😭
Other notes and thoughts:
- I put in an order at Starbucks for a small coffee and they accidentally gave me a large. I think the baristas knew I actually needed a large?? ☕️
- I was folding Dakota’s pajamas (that used to be Mordecai’s) and I almost put them away in his drawer. It feels like he was a baby just yesterday 👩🏼🍼
- Sadie thinks these secret ink spy pens are the coolest thing ever. Ok, I’ll admit I think they’re fun too 🕵️♀️
- We were pet sitting our friend’s husky and she and Niva were playing while Jimmy was in our hot tub one morning and Niva accidentally jumped in the hot tub!!! 🐾
- This is my current favorite peanut butter 🍯
- Sadie cleaned and organized the play area under her bed without me asking this week. I was so happy to see her take initiative! 🧹
- We started potty training Mordecai. Our essentials: paper towels, potty training-themed books, a Swiffer, potty, training underwear and lots of enthusiasm + patience! 🚽
- I’ve been loving making an afternoon iced coffee lately. I put ice in a glass, add flavored syrup (usually coconut or vanilla), barista oat milk, and decaf cold brew. Hits the spot every time! 🙌🏼
- I’m currently reading this adoption memoir and this book about 68 women who reflect on starting a business and raising a family 📖

Those cookies are pure art work and taste sooooo good! I can testify to the taste! I think because the presentation is so awesome it makes them taste better!
Love the pic with Jimmy and the kids, all your favorite peeps!
It does seem like time is flying by looking at all those pics. We just have to enjoy each moment of time God gives us!
Love ❤️You!
Dad
🙂
Aww, thank you! I was so glad you could come over that day and have one!
Love you so much!
