When I got back from our trip to North Carolina, I mentioned that I didn’t like putting my Etsy shop in vacation mode because it messed with Etsy’s algorithm helping people find my shop in search results. I was very blessed in that it didn’t take too long for my little shop to bounce back and start getting orders again.
My first order of business was baby boy chocolate covered Oreos for a few orders. These actually caused me to miss out on Oktoberfest in Pittsburgh. Jimmy ended up taking the kids and they had a great time!
Sometimes it’s hard having work where I don’t have a set schedule and have to work in the cracks of time I have. But it’s also so nice to have flexibility and be able to be home with my kids. It just leaves a lot of my work to be done in the evenings, on the weekends, or during nap times. I really love it, though. It’s such a fun creative outlet!
I’m also thankful to have such a supportive husband who doesn’t bat an eye at spending a Saturday or weeknight evening being the main caretaker while I dip Oreos in chocolate for hours at a time!
Speaking of Saturdays dipping Oreos in chocolate… well, that’s just what I did this weekend! A school in California asked me to make 150 fall-themed chocolate covered Oreos for their Halloween party. I still have a few more to do (as I type this post on Sunday!), but I can say that it was great! I think it was my biggest Oreo order yet?!
Today will be spent finishing up that order and catching up on a few more orders that came in while I worked on that one. It can feel overwhelming to look at my overflowing laundry basket on days like this, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Sadie and I went to a craft night at the library this week and had so much fun making Perler bead pumpkins and black cats! I totally dreamed of nights like that when I was pregnant with her and now to live them out? It’s the best. I’m so thankful to God for each and every season with these sweet kids!
The librarian asked Sadie (not knowing we homeschool) if she likes her teacher and Sadie nodded her head yes, haha. It was a happy homeschool mom moment 😉
While Sadie and I were at our craft night, Jimmy put Mordecai to bed and then set up snack plates and a gaming night for him and Sadie. How cute is that? She was so excited to play Mario Kart with dad!
Okay, let’s end this post with a few things I’m loving!
- Planning Mordecai’s birthday party
- This curling jelly recommended by Grad Girl
- Wearing flannel shirts
- These colorful pens
- Family walks at night–best way to end the day!
- Seeing Sadie get more confident with reading
- Mordecai talking 24/7 lately
We’re at the start of a new week as I type up this post. We’ve got another full week on deck with the usual (school, Etsy, housekeeping, church, co-op) along with a chiropractor appointment, ultrasound, library night, and more!

Woaaa 150 cookies and being sent all the way to CA!
Love that Sadie loves her school teacher!

Such a blessing!
I was so glad she approves of her teacher 😜
Love you!
Ok WOW those Oreo designs are stunning! What a lucky group of students!
Aww, thank you sooo much!
Also I just saw that you liked my curling jelly!! I’m so happy
I absolutely LOVE it! Such a good rec. Thank you!
SO MANY OREOS, those all look sosososos adorable. I am a sucker for all things fall themed. I love that you are close to a town that celebrates Oktoberfest. We have one here in Leavenworth, but it’s a 3hr drive and they don’t have any rides. Mostly just food and beer.
Thank you!! I am a big fall lover, too! I bet in the PNW it’s just insane with the leaves and mountains and such!! I am so surprised there aren’t more Oktoberfests!!!
SO.MANY.OREOS! I feel like every time I come over to your house you’re working on an order and they always look so amazinggg! I know first hand how hard you work on your orders- you’re attention to detail and care for your customers is impeccable. 🤓
The pic of Sadie and Jimmy at the Ferris wheel should def be framed!
love you!
Madre
