Whew, life has been busy lately! Remember how I mentioned I’ve been getting orders for challah? I’ve gotten a few more and I’ve been having so. much. fun.
I’ve even experimented with new flavors like cinnamon raisin, cheddar jalapeno, and feta and sun-dried tomato. I have about a million more ideas floating around my head. I’m also hoping to make my first sourdough starter soon 🙂
Ready to hear about another super random side job I’ve gotten into? Sampling demos! I got hired by a company that sends people to stores like Wamart, Target, and local grocery stores to hand out samples for companies like Starbucks, Stacy’s Pita Chips, Chex Cereal, and more.
I know it’s totally random, and maybe a little goofy, but I seriously have a blast handing out samples and talking to customers!
Since I spend most of my days with an almost 14-month-old, it’s fun to talk to adults for a few hours, even if it’s just to ask if they want to try Starbucks Holiday Blend or Stacy’s Pita Thins! Plus, it’s nice to make a few extra bucks on the side.
Other fun things of note lately:
-Sadie is now using sign language! Thanks to everyone who told me to stick with it. The first time she signed “more” I got so excited! We’ve been enjoying this book on sign language (<–affiliate link) since she was a newborn, and I guess it has really helped!
-Jimmy and I are still trucking along with our kitchen renovation! We painted our back kitchen door yellow over the weekend and I love it.
-All the pets and Sadie love climbing on me when I sit on the couch and it’s so sweet!
Okay, one last fun thing of note. Sadie’s hair is long enough for pig tails! Never mind the fact that it took me about ten minutes to put them in her hair while she ran around the house 😉

Cheddar jalapeno bread sounds incredible. Yum!! Handing out samples sounds fun but I think I would get hungry then just start eating the food lol
It’s Jimmy’s favorite flavor of the moment!! Handing out the samples is a blast and it’s pretty tempting not to eat/drink everything when I’m standing there with it for hours haha!

Pig tails are the cutest! I just love (trying) to do styles with Sadie’s hair when she allows it, haha! They’re usually short-lived, but oh so cute 🙂

It really is a lot of fun and so simple!! Thank you for the compliment on my bread!! And I get major heart eyes when Sadie wears pigtails! I don’t know what it is about that hairstyle, but it’s just absolutely adorable 🙂
What a fun side job!! I don’t currently do anything on the side, but I miss the days when I walked dogs and pet sat! That was my side hustle for years. Harder to do that in Europe when I don’t speak the local language! HA.
It is a fun little side gig! I remember you pet and house sitting for years and I always loved seeing pictures of the animals! I remember that one dog you would watch and stay at the owner’s house… it was a gorgeous dog!
YES. His name was Gizmo, and I miss him dearly.
Lol Allie, you look so cute giving out the samples! Totally makes sense that you need some adult interaction. 🙂 Love that they climb all over you when you sit down, my cats are the same way! & oh my gosh, those pigtails!
Thanks Hunida!! Yes, at least some adult interaction each day is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets climbed on the second they sit down! Your three fur babies are the cutest and have such big personalities!
Lol I don’t mind the being climbed on but I just wish they’d at least wait until I’m all settled & comfy first, right? My fur babies really do all have different personalities, it’s so funny. 😂
