Happy New Year! Jimmy and I spent the first day of 2015 with my family. It was a relaxing day filled with dogs, photography, eating, and movie watching. Today, I’m pushing through a nasty cold and trying to get some work done around the house with Jimmy! I’m so happy he doesn’t have to work today ๐
I hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed, and fantastic year this year!
How was the start to 2015 for you?
Edited to add: I just realized today is Friday… haha.
Haha, I literally just posted on Twitter that I keep forgetting which day it is! ๐ Your “Silent Saturday” made me do a double-take. I think it’s Friday today!
Haha you’re so right!! I published this post and got in the shower and was thinking… Oh yeah, today is Friday haha.
I love your photos. They are all so gorgeous.
It feels like a Saturday to me so I understand ๐
Thank you Hollie! I’m glad someone understands my struggle with what day it is!!
That bread you make gets me every time!
Aww haha. You should try making it some time!
P.S. Just read to the bottom of your post: sorry to hear you’ve got a cold. Feel better soon!
I spent the first day of 2015 with my mum, my sister and my three nieces (age 4, 2 and 9 months). I love playing with them: they’re so sweet! Today I’m busy finishing a sociolinguistic study that’s due to be turned in on Monday. And I vacuumed and mopped the floors, so I’m feeling quite productive!
Aww, thank you! I finally am getting over the worst of the cold. Just some lingering stuffyness, thankfully!
It sounds like you had a fun first day of 2015! Those are such fun ages for kids, too! I bet it was lively and they had you laughing :). I hope your study went well and yay for productivity! LOVE that feeling!
Oh, it’s good that it didn’t last too long!
Yes, they’re fun and very busy! ๐ They always cheer me up if I’m feeling a bit low, which I was a few days ago. I think I’ve been working too much recently and putting a lot of pressure on myself, but I finished my study and I’m happy with that. I love feeling productive too: it’s a great reward for working hard!
Haha, it’s totally fine about the day thing. Yesterday felt like Saturday to me because I ran a race that morning and watched college football which is normally a Saturday thing. I still really love the pictures in the post!
Isn’t it crazy how mixed up you can feel when your schedule changes?! It always throws me off, haha. And thank you!
It felt like Saturday all week! My first two days of 2015 have been successful because I’ve managed to keep my resolutions! ๐
Agreed! I was so confused on the days, haha. I’m glad you had a first two successful days of 2015! I hope all is still going well for you, Ellie!
I keep being pleasantly surprised that it’s still weekend. So nice. That bread always looks so good. Happy New Year!
Gotta love the weekend! And good bread ๐ Thank you! Happy New(ish) Year to you, too!
Ok, that bread looks absolutely amazing!!!!! Bread is the one thing I have never tried to make! I guess I am impatient and don’t want to wait for the dough to rise! New Year’s Resolution – make bread!!!! Still never tried those english muffins you posted forever ago…
You should totally give it a try, Kim! I think you would love it! Plus, you could put your own spin on the ingredients, etc.!
LOVE the pics, as always!
And – wow – that bread look amazing!!!! ๐
Thank you so much, Nicole!
OMG – you made the challah bread!!! That’s my favorite bread ever.
Gotta love a good hunk of challah!! Jimmy and I use it for sandwich bread, haha!
Two words sum up how I feel about this post: Adorbs and YUM.
Aww, love it!! Hope all is well with you ๐
Excellent photos! You have skill ๐
Aww, shucks! Thank you ๐
Mmm, challah! And yay, dogs!
Gotta love challah and dogs!
would love to spend a day baking, taking pictures, and playing with our dogs together!
Oh my goodness, YES! That would be so amazing!
Sorry about the cold! Hopefully you are feeling better now!! Also, I really think you need to mail me a loaf of that challah bread. It always looks SO good! I haven’t made it in YEARS. No joke. It has been that long. And I love the stuff! Clearly I need to bake some soon! ๐
I am finally on the mend, thankfully! You should totally make some challah for Christopher as he heals from his surgery… bread is always a nice thing to have around, lol!
