What a semester! Whew. I was pretty busy with classes at Penn State, house hunting, and wedding planning, but all of the hard work payed off.
I ended up earning a 4.0 GPA, won the senior communications award, and was the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. I couldn’t have achieved any of those accomplishments without God. Period. I’m pretty sure my favorite scripture to repeat every day was “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13.
I was pretty nervous about continuing my position on the newspaper staff at the beginning of the semester. I prayed about it, and decided to stick with it for my last semester on campus. It wasn’t easy, but I’m so glad I did it. I became close with everyone on the staff and learned more about editing and writing!

I honestly didn’t think I would earn a 4.0 GPA and make the Dean’s List all because of one class: statistics. I can’t even describe how nervous I was about taking stats. I had to take a math class, and I had to earn a C or higher for it to be applied towards my degree. The pressure was on, and I am not a math person.
I definitely cried a good bit, but I studied to hard, met with my professor for help constantly, and ended up earning an A.

Earning the communications award was awesome. I began my college career as a nutrition major, but realized that writing is amazing and something I hope to do for the rest of my life. My communications professors at Penn State have really supported me and helped me learn a lot about the field of journalism.

Leaning on God and trusting Him to help me through this busy season is the only way I was able to do anything. I also owe a ton of thanks to my professors, family, friends, and Jimmy. They’ve seen me cry over frustrating problems, listened to me complain and worry, and encouraged me every single day. I am so blessed.
I guess what I’m trying to get at in this post is that Philippians 4:13 is true. You can do all things through him who gives you strength!
