So… I opened an Esty shop.
If you don’t know, Etsy is a website where people can buy and sell handmade and vintage items as well as art and supplies. It’s a pretty neat website if you ask me.
The name of my shop is Hearty Handfuls, and I’m currently selling granola!
Right now, I have two varieties: coconut almond and peanut butter. I’m hoping to add more flavors in the near future, too!
Above is a picture of the coconut almond flavor. It’s healthy, and made with simple ingredients like whole grain oats, honey, coconut, raisins, and sliced almonds. I think it’s perfect on its own, or sprinkled on top of yogurt.
The granola above is the peanut butter flavor. It’s made with whole grain oats, honey, peanuts, and my one of my favorite foods–peanut butter. This granola is also healthy, and is great in a bowl with some ice cold milk.

I’m not really sure what prompted me to open an Etsy shop! I know I’ve always wanted to share my baked goods, and friends and family always tell me they love my granola because it’s tasty and healthy.
Hannah helped me decide on the name Hearty Handfuls because I bake with my heart, and it makes me so happy to see others with handfuls of something I created for them.
I don’t have any crazy expectations for this little venture, and I’m definitely not out to make tons of money. I don’t know if I’ll add different types of baked goods or even how long I’ll keep my shop open. I’m playing things by ear and doing this for the pure enjoyment of it. And so far? It’s been pretty fun!
The whole process has been an enjoyable learning experience. At first I was like “Uh, how much do I charge, and what about shipping? How do I do this?! I don’t want to think about labels and costs and math-related things!”
I don’t have everything figured out, and I’m perfectly okay with that. I’ve got the basics covered, and I’m learning as I go. I’m really focused on quality and customer service. I want people to be happy 🙂
The creative side of me is in pure heaven. I love thinking up granola flavors (I’m considering adding a gingerbread flavor!) and photographing everything. I honestly lose track of time and forget about everything when I get in the baking/photographing zone.
It’s safe to say that I’m totally loving this.
I just wanted to share what I’ve been up to with all of my blogging friends :). If you have any questions, let me know! I’m sure I’ll do a more in-depth post in the future!
Good for you Allie! This is so exciting! Congrats on setting up and opening your Etsy store! Can’t wait to go check it out! 🙂

I saw the new store and I love the name of it. The peanut butter granola looks super tasty too, it’s a neat experience to open an etsy shop and figure out things like pricey, shipping, and all of that- I know it can’t be easy either. Kudos to you and hopefully you see some orders quickly!
These things are supposed to be fun, and it’s great that you are sharing your scrumptious treats with the world 🙂
Definitely think about adding some delectable baked goods that you keep showcasing here on the blog 😉

I need to jump on the ESTY Bandwagon!!! 😀
SO COOL! I love the name and the logo. I think you should do a PBJ granola very soon!
I saw your post on FB about your Etsy shop, and meant to comment (the gingerbread granola looks/sounds soooo good…I may have to buy some!). I think that’s so awesome you started your own Etsy, though. I make jewelry and have been wanting to start an Etsy shop for awhile, but never worked up the guts to actually do it. I absolutely love the name of your shop too…so cute!
