I hope everyone had a safe and happy NYE and New Year’s Day! I am so excited for 2012 and I want to make it a great year, with lots of personal growth. Yep, it’s time for my new year’s goals/resolutions for 2012 😀
Life goals/resolutions for 2012
1.Get a job and work my butt off. I have specific plans.. more on this in late January/February–it’s kind of a surprise!
2.Travel to Savannah, GA. Ever since I read a book by Paula Deen, I have wanted to visit Savannah.
3.Read 50 books. I attempted this in 2011 and read 32. We’ll see what I can do!
4. Be more generous/surprise others more. That probably seems random but I love surprising people and buying friends/loved ones little gifts and treats; I want to do this more in 2012.
Spiritual goals/resolutions for 2012
1.Continue to have Bible studies with Jimmy and get through 5 more books of the Bible in 2012. Last year Jimmy and I got through almost 3 books of the Bible and I want to increase that because our Bible studies have proved to be very awesome.
2.Journal 3x a week. I think journaling could be considered spiritual because I usually read my Bible and journal at the same time and often write down my thoughts. I love journaling and always feel “connected” after I do it.
Health & fitness goals/resolutions for 2012
1. Run outside at least 2x a week in the cold months. This will be tough for me because I have a hard time getting out of the door when it is 10 degrees out even though I KNOW I can do it!
2.Run my 3rd half marathon and an ultra or full marathon. I know I can run a half marathon, and I want to. I also have been wanting to run a full or an ultra since 2010, I’m hoping this year will be my year!
3.Break 21:00 and/or 20:00 in my 5k. I better find a flat course ;p!!!!
3.Learn to “back off” when I feel a possible injury coming on. This is pretty self-explanatory, but it always proves to be tough for me. I really want to focus on staying injury-free this year.

So, those are my goals and resolutions for 2012. Some are specific and some are vague, I tried not to set the bar too high, but I also wanted to challenge myself to grow and evolve into who I want to be. Like I said, I’m excited! I hope everyone has a GREAT year in 2o12 🙂

Just for giggles (because this post doesn’t have a picture yet!) I’ll share a picture from NYE.

Have a great day <333
I love how you broke up all your goals!
Reading 50 books? You rock! I’ll be lucky if I read 5 this year that aren’t baby related! 🙂
You’re so cute. Those are some awesome goals. I have always wanted to go to Savannah but the closest I’ve ever been is staying at a hotel right off the Savannah exit while driving to school. I wanted to do more exploring but after a 12 hour drive with 8 to go I probably would not have made it.
I read Paula Deen’s memior and totally wanted to go down south just so she would cook for me and call me darlin’! My resolution is simple: control my spending! (And get some muscles…but that is on the back burner haha)
Oh…and do my devotionals EVERYDAY. I feel so bad when I forget! I started doing them while eating breakfast and it helps me remember 🙂 Have a great day!
Love these resolutions! Can’t wait to read more!
love those goals! you are a rockstar!!!
Great resolutions!
Hey! Just stumbled on your blog–you’re adorable, and I’m loving the 2012 resolutions! Way to be.
Great goals Allie! Just like last year, they are thoughtful and I can tell you aren’t too strict with yourself about them. Love it!
Great goals!! 🙂 I love that you have a couple of goals in each category 🙂
I like your goals! I haven’t been to Savannah either and hubby and I really want to go. We probably won’t go to Paula Deen’s restaurant though, because from friends who have went, I have heard it is not as good as it is hyped to be.
Oh, and I don’t like butter :).
Good luck with your running and spiritual goals!

Oh, and I don’t like butter :). Which is another reason we wouldn’t visit her restaurant.
Good luck with your running and spiritual goals! I like how you write them down like this, they really seem more like goals instead of “resolutions” :).
great blog with wonderful resolutions! love that last picture hehe 🙂
Such great goals!! I love the one about surprising others and being more generous! So sincere.
Great goals Allie! I love the 50 book one… I am such a reader and this is the kind of goal I should be making too!
Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh! Let’s be first marathon twins 🙂
Awesome goals Allie!! The one about backing off when you feel an injury coming is really important so I am glad you recognize this 🙂
Happy 2012!
I definitely want to read a ton of books this year… now that I’m out of school and have more free time I am all about it!! 🙂
Love all your goals and I think that it will be a fantastic year for you. Can you believe we have been following each others blogs for year. I was just thinking about that.
