I ran!

Sweet niblets! It had been over 3 weeks since I ran. The athletic trainer who is helping me  rehab my knee told me to try running on Saturday. I didn’t because I was busy/tired (rest day=yum).

Sunday I thought “today is the day”.. well actually I was quite nervous. I did my stretches + foam rolled + iced + put on my brace and ran 3.4 miles on the dreadmill! I didn’t have too much pain at all because the brace helped a ton. I was pretty happy with that and I was also a hot sweaty mess after running for only 30 minutes aka i’m out of shpe LOL! It’s all good though 🙂

On Saturday Jimmy and I volunteered at the South West PA TEA Party. Yes THE TEA Party that you hear about on the news. We volunteer about 3 times a year at these events and they are quite fun.

Afterwards, we went and saw Transformers. (Not my choice of movie but you gotta please the guy too!) I was rockin the braids all day bahaha

Monday (Independence Day!) was spent with Jimmy as well. We went to the biggest fair in Western PA .. The Big Butler Fair! Boy did we feel out of place. Coming from Pittsburgh, we felt like city slickers for sure. I loved seeing all of the animals though!

Biggest rabbit EVER? Possibly.

Whud uppp!

That’s all for today folks! Do you ever feel like a city slicker or a country bumpkin when you go to different places?

  1. Im so happy for you that you can run again!! 😀 That fair looks fun and I love the bunny! I’d fit right in there but if I went to Pittsburgh or another city I would feel like a total country bumpkin. 😛 I live the total complete opposite of city life.

  2. Yay for being able to run! hope your knee is still feeling good.
I don’t really consider myself a city slicker but I def fit that category more than country bumpkin

  3. OMG YAY!!! I’m so excited you got to run! 😀
I bet that fair was awesome, I love the animal pics. I think I’m a mix of a bumpkin and city slicker, I wanna be more of a bumpkin though so I could have chickens and horses! 😉

  4. I’m a country bumpkin living in the city, and I love it 🙂

So glad you got out and ran again! And 3.4 miles is pretty darn awesome and in shape if you ask me…

  5. WOOHOOO on the run! You’re on the mend and will be back to your old self in no time!!!

it’s funny… here in the city I feel country… back home in the country I feel city. Oh well! ahahha

  6. Glad you were able to run!! 🙂

Coming to Montana definitely showed me that despite growing up in a little farming town I am a CITY SLICKER hahaha. It is soooo crazy rural out here!

  7. Woot wooot on the running. Love your braids – in the winter, back home in New England, I’m all about the braids and a beanie. 🙂

I grew up in rural New England so I definitely have some country bumpkin in me, but thankfully, I’ve traveled all over the world, so some of it has gone 🙂

  8. Woo! I’m so glad you were able to run with a bit less pain and that the trainer’s plan seems to be helping. Stick with it girl!

Oh my gosh, I used to go to the “Big But Air” with my friends when I was younger. I can’t believe I was brave enough to ride those rickitty old rides! I loved the animals too but the sideshows made me sad. I hope they got rid of ’em!

  9. I just found your blog from Hollie’s 🙂 I run cross country, whaddup?!!
I’m actually really excited because today I ran for the first time in 5 weeks. I know exactly how you feel. I was so scared and I only ran a mile!

I’m neither a city slicker nor country bumpkin.. I’m like, suburbian. So I feel like a city slicker in the country and a country bumpkin in the city. I’m the girl walking around the streets of Philadelphia with a map because I still get lost.

  10. Yay for the run!! I am def a country girl for sure. I love to visit big cities, but it’s always good to get home to the mountains, country cookin, and where the things are a little sweeter and the pace is slower. 🙂

  11. yay! So happy you’re able to run again! LOL I’m loving the big rabbit!<3 So cute and fluffy! and your braids are adorable! I wish I could rock those out but instead I look like a dweeb.. yeah i totally used that word.

  12. SO glad you were able to run!! 🙂 And I definitely have felt like a country bumpkin before when going to a large city. Ha, ha.

  13. Yay for running with no pain. It’s amazing how quickly you lose vo2 max when you stop running. My word, that rabbit looks as big as that horse!
