After 10:30AM today (MATHFINALEW)… it will be summer for me! I should tell you what is next on my agenda (besides a few races/maybe a tri)
A cruise with my family. I will turn 19 while in the middle of the ocean, on a boat. Kinda cool. Kinda not cool.
Wait.. not cool? Correct. Last year I went on a cruise with my brother, Bill. (Actually his name is William, and yes, our last name is Smith, so that would make my brother WILL SMITH!)
Anyways.. that is my broski Will Smith.
He graduated from PSU and I graduated from high school. Our graduation gift from our parents was to go a cruise to Mexico & the Grand Cayman Islands. Well first of all 1 weird thing that happened..
Everyone thought we were on our honeymoon.
Happy couple? No.. BRO & SIS!
So that was awk. We shared a room and our room cleaner was like “Mr. & Mrs. Smith!!!” then we told him we were brother and sister and he was like “Ohhhh should I separate your bed?” Hahaha.
But that wan’t the bad thing.
The bad thing was that I was sick. The whole cruise. Sea sick to the max.
People say that you don’t even feel like you are on a boat. Wrong for me. Not only did I feel like I was on a boat the whole time, I felt like I was going to puke. I was dizzy and I was walking around lopsided! Not cool. I am afraid of that happening again! I took some medicine and it made me feel worse. I was a drugged zombie with the munchies!
I was afraid to get seriously ill but I remembered a really great scripture:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”. Matthew 28:20
Besides that issue, the cruise was awesome!
Snorkeling with sting rays anyone?!
Or swimming with dolphins in Mexico. :]
So that is what’s up next for my summer! I will have to do a post on what I am doing this whole summer (WORK).
Now I am off to study and take my last final.

Hahaha, that is hilarious about the room cleaner! But also very, very creepy. 😛 I love the photo of you with the dolphin! I’ve never been on a cruise but I’ve been to the Bahamas! That was tons of fun!

Yeah it was really creepy! We didn’t know what to say when we got to our room and the beds were connected to make one big bed. I was like ummmm.. haha
Swimming w/ a dolphin was scary because they are so powerful!

That is sooo funny that they mistook you for a married couple. When I bought my car a few years back.. my brother came with me.. and they def thought we were married. I wanted to get it across that we weren’t – without being blunt.. and I don’t think it worked. I definitely should have just been blunt! hahah

That is too funny about the cruise (not the sick part, but the parts with your broski!). I’ve been on one as well and had a similar experience. Plus it was a retirement cruise…if you catch mah drift!
Well first good luck on your math test obviously.
Second, I get terribly sick on cruises for real. I had to use one of those bracelet things that kept my synergy in the middle. So strange to explain but it worked and I didn’t get sea sick ha.
Oh my gosh that cruise looks like a butt load of fun I’m wicked jealous!! My friends and I are talking that for our graduation gifts that we go on a cruise together! My brother and I get that all the time too when we go out to dinner or ice cream it’s totally awkward but now we’re just like “um you’re an idiot”.

I love being on boats but I have never been on a cruise because that scares me… Living and sleeping on a boat!? My greatest fear used to be drowning at sea. No idea why, maybe I saw some scary movie when I was little?
Hahahahaha! Oh, I’ve been there before. People assuming you’re married to a sibling. Even worse is that people look at Christopher and I and since we look very similar (same coloring and mannerisms) people often think that WE’RE siblings. Awkward for sure, haha!
Oh gracious, I really hope that I don’t get sea sick. I’ve been on boats before, but never a cruise. We’re going on one this year so I’m hoping for the best! 🙂
No crusies for me. 😦 But plenty of boats and long distance ferries! no sea sickness even in badass storms! WOO!

Oh how awkward! Honeymooners?!?! I bet you and your bro were cracking up all the time! I’d kill to go on a cruise, especially if it involved swimming with dolphins, I’ve always dreamed of doing that 🙂 You’re gonna have so much fun, what a great way to celebrate! I cannot fathom being seasick for a cruise! That’s torture! I couldn’t help but chuckle at the idea you were married to each other, though. that’s classic! Doesn’t everyone go on a cruise for their honeymoon? 🙂

Ugh! So sorry you were sick the entire time! I’ve been on a couple of cruises and absolutely LOVED them both!!!! Maybe it’d be better on a larger ship?? My first cruise I could totally feel the ocean moving, but the second cruise we were on the biggest ship Royal Carribean has and I swear I NEVER felt the ocean move!
I have never been on a cruise before. Frankly, they scare me. I would like to go on one of those running cruises.
