How does your garden grow?

Isn’t that a song or a saying or something? How does your garden grow.

I don’t really know… but my garden is growing. Actually it’s growing a little too fast for me to keep up with it!!!

In February I bought some seed pellets and basil seeds so I could afford fresh basil!

They germinated very quickly and I was more than excited. This is/was my project, my baby.

I sent this picture to my mom and she thought it was a St. Patrick’s cupcakes… ummm

It is now April (holy cow!!) and my basil is now ready to be cooked with, smelled, and basically adored.

It is nestled on my dining room window sill. I water it almost every day! Next to my basil (not pictured) are some other small pots of strawberries, tomatoes, and green peppers! I started to grow them all in late February to early March so they are all little babies!

Fresh basil in pinto bean stew 🙂 Makes me happy!

It is so rewarding to grow your own herbs/plants to eat and cook with!

I also made a special purchase. BLUEBERRY PLANT!! (That is for another post though!)

Soooo, what have I been up to?

-Jim and I just had our 2 1/2 year anniversary on April 3rd ❤

-Hanging out with my bff Madison 🙂

SCHOOL WORK

-Researching a special run!!! Either a 77 mile relay OR a 50k. We shall see!

-Reading the book of Job (in the Bible!) and totally loving it

-Cooking and baking

-Being happy

-Enjoying Spring!

What have YOU been up to?

  1. “How does your garden grow?” comes from the English nursery rhyme “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary”.

    “Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
    How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.”

    Congratulations on your anniversary! 🙂

  2. Adding to the comment above, I wonder if that’s why the girls name in The Secret Garden is Mary! And she was quite contrary. 😉 I never knew that whole rhyme before. i don’t know if that was done on purpose or just a coincidence.

Your plants are so cute! And I love your pictures, you’re so pretty 🙂

  3. Awh, pretty prom pictures! 🙂 My prom is comin’ up so soon! Can’t hardly wait!!!

I love that you’re reading Job! My friend and I are gonna’ start it next week!

  4. I recently bought a tomato plant and it’s shot up, too! I love gardening/raising your own plants, it’s super fun!!

Job is probably my favorite book of the Old Testament, it really makes you take a step back and be thankful for what God has done 🙂

Aww and happy anniversary! That’s so exciting!
