Weekend Re-Cap? Yup.

What a busy, busy weekend! It was a fun one, for sure. I like to say my weekends start on Friday- so i’ll go from there. I started my morning with my Bible, as always. Here was the verse of the day:

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23

I headed to school… First English, then art, finally psychology. Can’t say too much was exciting about school on Friday! After school around noon I headed to the YMCA and lifted, which is always enjoyable! After that I headed home to make dinner- breakfast for dinner to be exact.

Quiche! It included: mushrooms, onions, green peppers, Italian herbs, cheddar cheese, and tomatoes!

After I baked the quiche mom cooked up some turkey bacon and I made some homemade whole wheat blueberry pancakes. All of this paired with maple syrup tapped from New York. Yum.

After dinner Jimmy and I headed to Blade Runners in Oakmont to ice skate! Yes, ice skating season is approaching! Half of Redeemer Lutheran School was at the rink so it ended up being TONS of fun. I love ice skating; I especially love to pretend I am Anton Apollo Ono and speed skate (HAHA)

Yeaaaah, I always cut Jimmy’s head off..

Anyways! After ice skating we were very tired and had sore feet, so we headed home and had hot oolong tea with honey! I’m sure I was in bed by 10:30 at the latest because Saturday was a much looked forward to day 🙂

Saturday started off again with my Bible and nutella, yum. Verse of the day:

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14

I woke up around 8:00 AM so I didn’t have time for too many morning activities (I would have loved to walk my puppy, Lola..) Everyone got ready fairly quick and Jimmy arrived in a timely manner and we were off to Fort Ligonier Days! This was our second year and boy was it hot outside!

First us girls attended the parade as the boys parked the cars (how sweet of them!)

By the time Jimmy and dad parked and found us, they were starved. So we waited in one of the many, MANY food lines. Jimmy had his very first gyro… and loved it! Score 🙂

Mid-chew action shot !

After lunch we literally visited every single vendor there! Holy cow! It was so fun! First stop after pushing through the crowd still watching the parade? Kettle corn! (Jimmy and I’s favorite snack!) After the kettle corn stop we shopped around- I purchased more maple syrup -its really becoming an addiction.. and Jimmy bought us both clay mugs for our little tea ritual!

After Lig. days we were WORN out! I slept on the way home… and we stopped at dunkin donuts, which is always amazing. Always. Except when they always get our order wrong.. ha.

We had many more things to fit into this busy day… the church corn maze was one of them! This year was my third year attending this fall event which I love. Us teens run like wild through the corn maze then ride in a big wagon to a bonfire, we roast marshmellows and play football until dusk.. or until we are really tired…

The farm we go to every year is Gerhard and it’s in Murrysville.

After the corn maze Jimmy and I were super tired! We headed home once again.. but this time we had tea in our new mugs! I also made puppy chow for my boy and we relaxed for a bit and had a hula hooping contest with Hannah and Emily! The two people that didn’t want to play scored the highest. Crazy stuff.

Mid-chew again.

Now onto Sunday! Started the day with this Bible Verse…

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8

Isn’t it such a hopeful verse? I love it! Mom and I were in the toddler room at church, which I think is oodles of fun and makes me reconsider ever having kids, LOL. Seriously though.

A calm moment with Isaac ❤

After church mom and I sped home and got ready for a very classy ladies lunch and auction to benefit Han’s school. Boy was it fun! The whole event was held at the Oakmont Country Club.. think elegant.. 😉 -so not my style but I had fun! The coffee (I drank 3 cups until mom cut me off) was amazing. The fruit and almond cookies were great. The sandwiches and salad weren’t too shabby either! Mom and I won a cooking basket during the silent auction!

The Auction raised around $6,000 for Redeemer! How very special! Here’s a picture of some of my lunch….

After the whole event mom slipped off here heels and we headed home! Later on was church- a great sermon on Joshua! Then finally, the weekend cap… eat n’ park with James<3 Sadly, Meredith said she was transferring… I suppose we will have to transfer with her! I was quite hungry.. I ate salmon with dill sauce, peas, and apple sauce. Jimmy and I shared his coffee.. I was dreaming of pumpkin pie to share but for once (or always?) Jimmy was full! Bummer…. next week 😉

What an awesome weekend, right?! Can’t get much better than ice skating, watching a parade, running through a corn maze, auctioning, going to church, and eat n’ park! I have some mega homework to do and a quiz to study for… plus i’m at work until 10PM to top it all off 😉 Dreaming of the upcoming weekend? Yup. Billy will be 22 on Friday!!
