What comes first

Hey there 🙂

Well well well, school has been in session for a week now and I am already up to my eyeballs in school work + reading! So, let me be honest for a moment here. I kind of made a realization. Because I’m not doing a sport for college and i’m currently not working (ugh!!!) my grades better show that I have made the best of having more free time.

So I have been really, really working hard at doing all of my assigned readings, homework, and papers. I don’t think I have ever been JUST a student. I have always played a sport and worked or at least just played a sport or just worked. I feel a little lost!

It is strange to have some free time. Jimmy and I went to a fair on Friday night.

We spent about an hour in traffic and I had to pee. SO BAD! But luckily we made it. I always go straight to see the livestock at fair’s. I tried to pet every single goat, sheep, and horse.

Today i’m going to the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival and I am excited! Life is quite full and busy right now. I’ll still be stalking blogs and commenting and posting but maybe a little less frequently.

If you need to find me… i’ll probably be in the library studying because school is going to come first.

Have you ever “lost” your identity? How did you deal?!

Also: I was thinking about doing a half marathon on September 10th. Should I rest my knee and train for a half in the winter or give the September half a go?!

I’m here!

Hey there!

I am alive… just VERY busy at the moment!

Yesterday (Sunday) I moved in to my suite and it is very nice! I went to get my key and they gave me the wrong one so I had to walk across campus to get the right one and then rush to move everything in and then meet with my team. Busy times.

Jimmy and my family helped me move and it was bittersweet to say goodbye. I know i’ll see them soon enough but it doesn’t make it easy.

After dinner with the team I went to a 2 hour NCAA meeting about drugs, grades, and behaving in college. The next meeting was with our coach. He went over this week’s schedule, our weight lifting schedule, our meet schedule, and the schedule for the month of August.

After all of that info thrown at me yesterday I was (and still am) overwhelmed! I don’t really know where anything is on campus right now and one other girl has moved in my suite but hasn’t said a word to me yet-cray cray.

^ that is my bedroom! Today I have to get a concussion baseline with the team in case anyone ever gets a concussion they have a baseline of what our brain was like before we got hurt to see how severe it is. Then I have practice from 10AM-12PM (just a distance run) then lunch with the team and later on I have another practice at 4PM-6PM (hills) with an ice bath after.

Yes, I am nervous about my knee. If it hurts we have plenty of trainers on hand to help me figure this out. What ever is in God’s plan if what I want to happen so I’m just being chill about everything 🙂

It has been really fun to meet new people and I’m excited to get to know everyone! I’ll keep you all updated as much as I can.

Oh yeah… foodie picture. I’m supposed to have breakfast with the team after 8AM but I was up around 6 …. Allie can’t wait that long!

You know it! Homemade granola + rice milk from my mini fridge 🙂
