Analyzing

Time to analyze 2011. I made a typical 2011 post on January 6th where I talked about some goals I had for the year. I want to check in on them and see how I did!

Life goals from 2011

1. Dress nicer. I would have to say I did okay… I had my good days and I also had my bad days..It was rainy okay?!

2. Walk my dogs more. I did really good with this one! My family’s dog, Eddie stopped going on walks because he is old, but Lola (my dog) got walked almost 365 times in 2011.

3. Get out more and do fun things. I think I did pretty well with this as well. Off the top of my head I can think of some fun things I did in 2011: went on a cruise, went to a Ren Fest, explored Pittsburgh, went to the zoo, went to a baseball games, and Kennywood (local amusement park). I probably could have done better, but school kind of prevented that as the year wore on. In Nassau, Bahamas!

Spiritual goals from 2011

1. Have more Bible studies with my boyfriend. Jimmy and I have had a lot of fun with this! We always try to have Bible studies at Starbucks, it is like a treat for us to spend time alone with good coffee and God. We studied the book of Ecclesiastes in January-April, Esther in April-August, and we are now in Romans. 2.Attend more church outings. I also did good with this goal. I did a lot with my church this year including going to a corn maze, fellowship parties, game nights, etc!

Health & fitness goals from 2011

1.Cook lots of new recipes. I did pretty well with this, as I expected because I love cooking. My favorite new recipe that I tried was enchiladas. Fo Sho. 2. Do more yoga. I was off and on with this goal. I did yoga a lot at the beginning of the year and kind of stopped in the middle but picked it back up and went to hot yoga a few times in the fall!

3. Complete another triathalon, half-marathon, OR complete my 1st marathon! I ended up running a half marathon in March and it was awesome!

Analyzing my goals from 2011 was fun. I think I did pretty well because I didn’t make any goals that were too overwhelming! Be on the lookout for 2012 goals.. they are going to be more specific and exciting as well!

Happy New Year!

The Ornament Exchange

A few days ago I mentioned that I would be attending my first ornament exchange. My mom and I purchased ornaments together at Hallmark on Thursday and the exchange was on Saturday at our church.

Saturday morning I did a 13 mile run (BRRRR) and wrapped my ornament (jk I made my mom wrap it because I stink at wrapping gifts).

My mom and I arrived at the church around noon and it was decorated so beautifully! We sang Christmas songs, had a Bible study, ate delicious food, and picked a number from a hat to get our ornament.

We had chicken salad on croissants, beef vegetable soup (above), chili, and cake + cookies.

This is the lovely ornament I received:“Be still and know that I am God” —> PERFECT for me.

Overall, it was a really fun experience and I can’t wait to go to the ornament exchange next year!

What have you been up to this weekend?!
