Celebrating Mordecai’s Third Birthday

It’s still hard for me to believe that Mordecai is three years old now! I feel like we just brought our baby boy home and here we are with a toddler who talks nonstop, loves to build Hot Wheels tracks with his daddy, and is always asking to help mom bake in the kitchen.

He is the sweetest little guy and loves to snuggle. If we ever have another son, I hope he’s just like Mordecai 🥹

Mordecai’s birthday fell on a Thursday this year, so we had a pretty normal day! He had two requests for his big day: bake a garbage truck cake and go in our hot tub. Done and done! We got started on the cake first thing.

Mid-morning, Daddy stopped by from work for a quick visit! We were able to give Mordecai his gifts—magnetic tiles and a new bathing suit. Sadie also surprised him with a bath bomb and Hot Wheels car.

He got dressed for the day in his “Birthday Boy” shirt from my mom.

After that, he played with his new magnetic tiles and mama kept working on the garbage truck cake!

We ate dinner and then sang happy birthday to our big three-year-old!

Once we got dinner and cake cleaned up and put Dakota to bed, we helped Mordecai into his new bathing suit and hopped in the hot tub to watch Cars!

And that’s how we celebrated Mordecai’s third birthday! It was a simple and sweet day, and I hope he had as much joy living it as I did watching him. 🤗
