A Little Front Porch Glow Up

I walked onto our front porch recently and it was looking a little… sad. Lackluster. It needed some love. Here are a few “before” pictures.

We had some chairs, an empty planter, and a beat up rug. No wreath, no plants, and no table. It wasn’t very inviting!

I love spending time on our front porch and often do homeschool with Sadie out there. We were definitely in need of a table! And something for the front door.

Like I said, it was a little shabby and sad! I started dreaming about a little glow up and was going for a natural, calm vibe. Plants, green, wood, and natural materials. Below is the inspiration photo I came up with!

I decided on a bar-height table and chairs made from acacia wood. We bought them on Amazon (risky, I know!) and I have been very impressed with the quality! I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some detail pieces like a braided rug, fiddle leaf fig tree, banana leaf plater, and fern wreath.

Everything came together really nicely and I love the way it looks now!

It was so much fun for me to take on a little design project and make the space my own. We’ve been loving spending time on the front porch lately 😊

What was the last project you did just for fun?

  1. I love it!! It is so inviting and perfect for your home!
I’m horrible at decorating, but I guess the last BIG update we did at our home in Pgh was our laundry room. Even though a contractor did the work, we picked everything out- the lay-out of the room (which changed a ton) paint, ship-lap, flooring, ceiling, lighting, sink and clothes drying rack, shelving, folding countertop and cabinets, ironing board rack, and door to hot water heater/furnace room. It was quite the project, but one I am SO grateful for. It’s no longer called ‘the dungeon’ that’s for sure!

    1. Aww, thank you! I loved putting everything together and dreaming up ideas for the front porch!

Your laundry room is GOALS. It’s so cute! It looks like a room from Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Fixer Upper show with the shiplap and design style!

      Love you!
