Two months with Dakota! She is becoming more aware of her surroundings, smiling more, and wiggling up a storm.
Here’s how Dakota is living her best baby life at two months old.
Growth 9 lbs 5.5 oz (8th%), 22 inches (30th%), and 37.5 cm head circumference (28th%).
Wearing Newborn and 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.
Eating Mom’s milk. Every time she eats, Sadie says Dakota is having a vanilla milkshake 🤣
Personality Chill, sweet, and happy!
Nicknames Kota Bear, Kota B (short for Kota Bear, lol), Dak, Kota, and Dakota Kubota.
Sleeping She is slowly starting to develop a pattern with sleep. She goes to bed around 7-8pm and wakes up around 1-2am to eat. She will often eat again at 3-4am and then cluster feeds until Jimmy and I wake up for the day at 5am. In the day, her naps are all over the place!
Looks Like She has been looking a lot like Mordecai as a baby lately! Sometimes she looks like Sadie, too. She’s a mix of her brother and sister for sure. She has blue eyes and dark blonde/light brown hair that, depending on the lighting, looks like it has a reddish tint to it.
New Skills Lifting her head more, tracking objects with her eyes, and smiling!
Likes Her siblings, being held, eating, baths, sleeping in her baby carrier, and being outside.
Dislikes Clothes going over her head, being in her carseat with the car not moving if she’s awake, and being overly hungry or tired.
Favorite products Bouncer seat, swaddles, nursing cover, baby carrier, baby monitor, memory book, foldable bath, nose/nail/ear picker.
Other notes She celebrated her first Easter and now has a little cousin, Gideon!
At her two month checkup, the doctor let us know Dakota has a hemangioma on her eyelid (it’s the red mark on her eyelid that you can see in most photos of her). It’s a little benign tumor of blood vessels. Hemangiomas usually aren’t an issue and go away eventually, but because Dakota’s is on her eyelid, the doctor referred us to a vascular plastic surgeon who works with other doctors like dermatologists and hematologists to come up with a plan for her. The pediatrician said that if the hemangioma grows, it can impact her vision and ability to open her eye. A team of specialists will be able to keep an eye on it, possibly prescribe medication to stop any growth, or perform surgery. We’ll be scheduling an appointment with them soon. In the meantime, we’re praying it doesn’t grow and that we can have minimal intervention 🙏🏻
That’s everything for Dakota Kubota at two months! She is a precious little chick and we all love her so much! We’re continually thanking God for her 💛

she is such a precious, happy, healthy little bundle of cuteness, and I love her so much! The way Sadie and Decky interact and coddle her is the most amazing thing to witness first hand! I’m so glad her 2 month appt went well, and that she will be seen soon by a professional for her hemangioma.
I pray for you all every day!
love you,
Madre
