Starting October in North Carolina: Kill Devil Hills Library and Jumpmasters Trampoline Park

We started off October with a rainy morning here in the Outer Banks! The first day of October felt like the perfect time to bake pumpkin muffins.

Because we had a rainy start to the day, we decided to visit the Kill Devil Hills Library. I always feel at home in a library. The kids definitely enjoyed exploring a new-to-them library!

We couldn’t check out any books (because I don’t have a library card for this library!), so that prompted us to check out my favorite local bookstore, Island Bookstore. I just love being surrounded by books! We ended up getting this book for this kids, which is based off of Psalm 23. It’s beautiful!

After all the books, we had lunch, Mordecai took a nap, and Sadie and I did her schoolwork. I promised her some beach time if she finished before Mordecai woke up and we made it to the beach for a windy walk!

We had another real-life science lesson with different seashells! We collected a bunch and brought them back to the beach house to rinse off and check out!

Once Mordecai woke up, we went somewhere Sadie was really excited about visiting… the trampoline park! We went to Jumpmasters in Manteo and had the whole place to ourselves for most of the time we were there.

Mordecai warmed up to the trampolines a little bit since our last time visiting a trampoline park for Sadie’s birthday–yay!

After the trampoline park, we ate dinner and then made a late night trip to the candy store. The kids were in heaven looking at all that candy! Sadie came out with some random things (gummy eggs… gummy eyeballs…!) and was so happy haha.

Here’s a vlog from the day 🙂

  1. I would LOOVEEE to go to a trampoline park. I see people post about them, but I’ve never seen one in real life. How fun. And candy after? Lolol a kids heaven.

I’m with you on libraries, I love them so much and love being around all the book.

    1. You’ve got to go! I can see you and Duncan going and having so much fun! And go get candy after hahah.

Libraries. *Sigh*… they’re the best! We are kindred spirits!

  2. The library was so much bigger than I expected, and we had such a fun time @ the trampoline park, and of course – the candy store is a must!

I love that Sadie enjoys the beach so much, and looking for cool treasures to take back and research 🧐

    love you,

    1. Agreed! I expected a small library! The trampoline park was so much fun and I can’t believe we had it to ourselves for most of the time. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing! And that candy store had everything… except dad’s caramel creams LOL.

      Love you!
