A year and a half with Mordecai! We can’t imagine life without this sweet guy. Here’s how he’s growing and being generally adorable at 18 months.

Growth 21 lbs 15oz (6th%), 30 inches tall (3rd%), and 49.5 cm head circumference (90th%).

Wearing 12 and 18 month clothes, size 4 shoes, and size 4 diapers.

Eating Mom’s milk and almost anything. He loves salmon, fruit, peanut butter, crackers (graham crackers, teddy grahams, etc.), popsicles, and chocolate almond milk.

Personality So happy and sweet! He’s very shy with people he doesn’t know.

Nicknames Deck, Decky, and his sister and cousins call him Pumpkin Head (see above head circumference for reason why, lol).

Looks like Mom, mostly. He has light skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes.

Sleeping Great! He wakes up around 6:00 am to breastfeed and then is up for the day around 8:00 am. He takes an afternoon nap from 12:30-2:00 pm (give or take!) and goes to bed at 7:00 pm.

New Skills He’s talking up a storm and saying thank you, mama, ball, dada, cracker, Einstein (when he wants to watch Baby Einstein), Nana (for Niva), boobie (LOL.. when he wants to eat 🙈) cat, sissy, car, truck, outside, no, bye bye, hi, and e-i-o (like in song Old Mac Donald). He can sign more, mom, no, milk, and cracker. He loves to wave and is starting to run a bit. He can now climb onto our couches, kitchen table, and bed. And he has his own little basketball hoop!

Likes Our family (immediate and extended), our pets, sucking his thumb, balls, balloons, bubbles, being held, watching other kids, spending time outside, popsicles, eating, throwing rocks, going to the creek, toy cars, playing with/in water, reading farm books and life-a-flap books, going to church, and hanging out with everyone who works with Jimmy.

Dislikes Sitting in a shopping cart for too long, diaper changes, elevators, loud noises, being put down when he wants to be held, and when Niva tries to take his food.

Favorite Products Car garage, Where’s the Firetruck, basketball hoop, no-spill bubbles.

Other Notes Moredcai graduated from the church nursery and is now in the toddler room! He had his 18 month checkup and was moving backwards for his percentiles in height and weight so he has to go back to the doctor in a couple of months for a weight check to make sure he’s growing. Other than that, he’s doing great and is such a joy for our family! It’s hard to believe his next update will be when he’s two years old. He’s a blessing to us and we treasure him so much 🤎
