Have you seen the thing going around the internet/Instagram/X where people say something like “If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t tell anyone, but there would be signs” and then they post a picture of something(s) they would spend money on.
I decided to *jokingly* make mine. I don’t play the lottery and don’t plan to, but my pantry might look a little more full if I did… 😉
Or, you know, I might suddenly acquire a few more cats??
So, I’m curious, what would your picture look like if you won the lottery?
Guess what Sadie did on Sunday evening! She got her ears pierced. She and her cousin Caroline both wanted their ears pierced so we took them together 💕
The above picture is the girls before. They were nervous! Caroline went first and then Sadie. She didn’t really cry, but definitely snuggled in close to me after each ear.
The girls both got matching butterfly studs and Hannah and I almost fell over when we went to check out and each girl cost $92. $92!!! The total covered the earrings, the piercing service, and the aftercare cleaning solution. We were both joking about how that was more than 1/3 of our grocery budget for the week 😮💨
Here’s the after! It was so special to do this together with my sister and I know Sadie and Caroline will always remember they got their ears pierced together!
Let’s move on to talking about pie. I can’t blog without talking about baking. First, let’s take a commercial break for a cute picture of Sadie and Mordecai enjoying some time outside.
Oh, and one more thing. Imagine getting a mysterious package in the mail. You didn’t order anything recently, but it’s addressed to you. You open it and this is what’s inside 😂
My mom sent me it and I can’t stop laughing.
Okay, back to pie. I mentioned in my last post that I was going to work on the May menu for my business and I tested out this pie for Memorial Day. I love how it turned out!
I made a pie crust and added cherry and blueberry pie filling. I separated them with foil as I assembled it and then took it out before I baked it. With the top crust, I made stripes and cut out stars. I topped it all with an egg wash and sanding sugar and here’s how it looked after baking.
This was what I did during nap time, lol. Should I have been folding laundry? Mopping? Maybe… but this was way more fun!

How cute! I love that both girls got their ears pierced together.
It was the sweetest!
My lottery winning picture would be a rack of vintage Betsey Johnson dresses, a lifetime supply of avocadoes, and a secret library (like where you move a cupboard and it reveals an extra room of books).
I found a Betsey Johnson dress (wasn’t vintage but NWT actually) at a clothing swap and I was thrilled! Haha
What a find!!! I need to look up Betsey Johnson clothing because I can’t picture in my mind what it looks like haha. Time to do some research 🔬
Hahaha if you type in “Betsey Johnson vintage dress Poshmark” you’ll find some beautiful dresses and staggering prices 😂
Hahaha I LOVE that! All of it. I had a feeling your lottery win would include some vintage clothing! I didn’t expect avocados, but I love to hear it haha. Will your secret library have a boba shop inside?!
Loll me and my boba addiction 😂
That pie is beautiful!!!! You’re so talented Allie!
Thank you so much Pree!
I can totally see your cabinet over stocked with peanut butter if you hit the lottery, and closets & draws!
The girls getting their ears pierced together is precious as is the pic with Decky and Sadie outside!
that pie looks really good, definitely want to try that!
Love You!
Dad
🙂
YEAH!!! You had a taste of it when I lived with you guys and had about ten different jars of peanut butter at all times 😇 Thanks for putting up with me!
I will have to make you a pie! Speaking of which… I don’t know your favorite pie flavor? Is it coconut cream?!
The ear piercing was just so sweet. A memory we will have forever!
I love all your pics so much!
If I were to win the lottery, my pic would be a pic of food being delivered to every family in need, all over the world. The starvation problem hits my heart hard.
I was 10 years old when my Aunt pierced my ears – with an ice cube and a hot sewing needle (I think…). Anyway, it was at our kitchen table in my childhood home in NY.
That pie looks so so good!!! You’re talent is amazing.
Love you,
Madre
Thank you! Your lottery win is a lot more selfless than mine, haha. I want to hear your “fun” one!!
I can’t believe your ear piercing story! EEK!
Thanks for the compliment on my pie. I love you!
My lottery win would look similar to yours with extra black cats. I would LOVE to have a cat sanctuary somewhere. LOL.
That pie turned out beautiful!
