To do

Well hello there and happy Tuesday!

I am on Thanksgiving break and loving the extra free time! I went to see Breaking Dawn and had lunch by myself yesterday. It was glorious and sometimes I just love being alone.

Though I have had more free time, I also feel like I have a lot to do. So I make lists. I love crossing off things on a list, it feels amazing. I hope to cross all of the following off by this time next week!

School stuff to do

-Study Economics

-Review Rhetoric paper

-Write news writing report

*I’m kind of frustrated with news writing right now because I have to interview  five people for an article for the school paper and I contacted the five people about two weeks ago and only one person has gotten back to me. I just need to focus on the things I can do… like study for economics…… ugh.

Life stuff to do:

-Organize my room and move my summer clothes somewhere…

-Finish planning Thanksgiving dinner

-Practice bowling before Friday (I have to fill in for my sister for our church bowling league and honestly… I STINK at bowling but I love it!)

*My immediate family (minus my brother and I) is going to New York for Thanksgiving so I am going to be here in Pittsburgh cooking for Jimmy’s family. This will be quite interesting. So far the menu includes: Turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli, rolls, apple pie, and pumpkin pie. I’m really nervous to roast a 21lb turkey all by myself :x!!!!

I took this picture on Saturday morning through my window/screen while laying in bed. I’m loving the beautiful sky every morning!

Have a great day!

Do you have ANY tips/advice for me for Thanksgiving?!

  1. Tip from experience for Thanksgiving or any holiday where you will be doing loads of cooking. Do as much of the food preparation as possible the day before. Then all you have to do is heat and serve. Takes away soo much stress over being busy in the kitchen when you have guests or need to be doing other things. Good luck! 🙂

  2. Dang, girl! You are doing Thanksgiving dinner!? I know of friends who just roasted several turkey breast rather than a whole turkey..might take some of the pressure off. And like the comment above me says, do stuff the day before: casseroles and stuff always taste better the next day anyway. And keep it simple!

  3. Wow!! Good luck with all the thanksgiving cooking! I agree with the other comments, the simpler the better 🙂 I’m sure everyone is gonna love your cooking though, you always make the tastiest recipes!

  4. That’s a big undertaking – good luck! Try to prep lots of things in advance so you don’t have to be super stressed! Ask others to bring things too 🙂

  5. I am so amazed at you for taking on a turkey/Thanksgiving dinner. You go. My advice would be to breath and enjoy the day. There are bound to be kitchen hijinks, but if you don’t let it bother you the day will be a success!

I totally hear you on the school stuff. I have 4 papers and a debate due before finals week and I’d like to get a huge chunk of it done over break!

  6. Girrrrrl I hear you! I’m also doing Thanksgiving dinner solo – the parents/grandparents decided to let me cook EVERYTHING. Whaaa?! I know the turkey is definitly the most intimidating part – mines tiny compared to yours though, 16.29lbs of goodness 🙂 I’m slow roasting have you decided how your cooking your little fella?!?! Good luck my dear!
