Shoe death

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

I love that verse from Zephaniah because it helps me to realize that God is always with me and he always wants what is best for me. He made me and He loves me. I don’t know a better feeling than that!

I put my shoes on for work and realized that I killed them on my trail run on Saturday..

Yep, I was at work when I took that picture. Yep, I took my shoes off.

Needless to say, I need new shoes because you know when you put too many miles on shoes, you can just FEEL it! There goes my paycheck 😉

My mom and I hung out on Friday and it was joyous. She needed to buy new clothes for a trip she is going on. I needed to goof off in dressing room mirrors.

Wearing my guitar hero shirt! You can totally see my mom on the right.. she did buy those pants! LOL.

I need Starbucks anonymous. Soy chocolate smoothie with a shot of espresso for good measure 😉

How do you deal with the high prices of shoes?

P.S. I added some new recipes to my recipe page 😀 (I am totally taking requests too!)

  1. Hehe… I deal with shoe prices by not buying any and going barefoot. 😉 Jk. Actually I get my mom to buy me a pair of vibrams and I live with those, some flip flops, and my bare feet. 🙂

I love the pictures of you especially the second one with your mom. =)

  2. I try to buy the older version of a shoe.. like the asics I have now.. I bought them when the newer version had just come out. Normally.. they are like 90 bucks.. but there were marked down to 55 because they were old.. and I had 25% off. Hey now.

  3. I look at shoes as an investment, and since you are getting a track scholarship, it totally worth it!! You are gonna be a runnin’ fool!
    😉

  4. Honestly, running shoes are one thing where I suck up the price. I’ve had shoes that have caused me a lot of pain, so I always feel it’s an investment in my health to splurge on them! But you could always purchase last year’s models in stores, or maybe online has some discounts.

  5. I love that verse! It is such a good reminder!

I save money on shoes by buying kid’s nikes! haha. My shoe size is 6.5, so sometimes they carry a very similar version of the shoe I want in kids sizes…usually saves about 30 dollars or so.

Hahaha I loved the pic of you in the dressing room mirror.

And…let’s attend Starbucks Anonymous together! I need rehab for that too. It’s just SO delicious.

  6. Yummm, lovin’ the Starbucks action. 🙂

The most I paid for a pair of shoes was $130. They were a really nice pair of Asics that I put a lot of miles in. I never had any injury or any problem. It’s definitely worth the splurge to get a nice pair of shoes that aren’t going to injure you. But I know how you feel, it’s so hard to spend so much! let me know what you decide!

    pssssssst, there’s always vibrams! 🙂

  7. Soy chocolate smoothie and shoes will be the two things i’d go ALLL out for !
but i’m lucky cuz shoes here are not so pricey .
your posts always keep me motivated to run more , hehe

  8. Shoes in Canada are 2-3x more than in the US, so I stock up on trips to US. Nothing will make you feel better about spending money on new shoes until you see how much we pay over here.

  9. I’m obsessed with starbucks too..we don’t have one when I’m up at school so I’ve recently become addicted to dunkin donuts hahah.

I dont know what it is about buying new shoes but I never feel guilty doing it, I’m always so excited to go running hahah that it over comes any guilt of having no cash haha

  10. How do I deal?? I’ve been wearing the same ones for..two or three years? But I’m not a runner, more a weight lifter so mileage isn’t a big issue. I still need news ones DESPERATELY though!!

  11. After reading Born to Run, I don’t believe in replacing your running shoes after XX miles. I highly recommend you read Born to Run to figure out my point. (:

  12. I go on amazon or google search to try to find someone with cheaper shoes or someone who’s having a sale.
