I picked..

Happy Mother’s DayIf you’re reading this mom.. I love you 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day!

My college pick:

Seton Hill

Why did I choose Seton?

*I want to be a published author and they have a creative writing major. Unfortunately, OVU didn’t have that. They had an English major and their best programs at the school were Education and Biblical Studies.. not exactly what I am majoring in.

As much as I wanted to choose a school that focused on my  faith, I can’t comprimise the major that I want. I know I would have loved OVU for the next 3 years, but for the rest of my life I wouldn’t have a degree that I wanted/needed.

So that is what it came down to. I could have picked OVU for all the ‘wrong’ reasons, but I had to think about why I am going to college.. duh! For an education so I can get a job.

What goes along with Seton Hill?

*I will be 20-30 minutes from home.

*Free Mac & Ipad (I wish I knew how to use Mac’s!!)

*I’m going to be running year round. [CC, indoor, & outdoor track]

*More expensive tuition, but if I excel in running, I get a larger scholarship next year!

*A new and challenging school.

*Only one of my classes doesn’t transfer so I have to look into taking a class online this summer. LOL.

*I’ll be living in dorms or an apartment. (I want Lola to be with me waaaaa)

*The chance to travel abroad during the year or in the summer.

That is all I can think of for now and this post is uber long. I will be sharing my 5k success in my next post and a special gift I got from a blogging bff<33333333

Do you think I made the right choice? It is okay if you disagree 🙂

Is anyone as indecisive as me?!

They better watch out, you’re gonna be the best writer and runner they’ve ever seen. 🙂

  5. So cool you get a FREE mac and ipad, especially mac! Macs are amazing and you will not look back. Doesn’t take too long to get used to.

  7. Whatever choice you made.. would have been the right choice for YOU. Since you chose Seton Hall – it is RIGHT! You have tons of opportunities ahead of you.. and I can’t wait to hear how everything goes!

  8. What a gorgeous Mother’s Day photo! You have lots of reasons to believe Seton Hall is the one, so it must be! Congratulations.

  9. I think you did make the right choice! Congrats on your new decision yet again! I’m so excited for you. 🙂

  10. Congratulations! It sounds like you made the right choice because at the end of the day no one knows it but you and your heart!

Love that pic of you, your sis, and your mom!

  11. Picking a college is hard, but I think you made the right choice. The college experience — both learning and fun-time — is what you make of it. I’m sure you’ll do great and have a blast! 🙂

  12. Aw you and your family are such cuties 🙂

I think it’s improtant to consider both the major you want and whether you’ll be happy at a place, but it doesn’t sound like those are really ‘mutually exclusive’ (aka it doesn’t sound like you picked a place you don’ treally like just because it has the right major). And there’s definitely something to be said for going somewhere that has the program you want, because you’ll tend to find like-minded people which is always a good thing! 🙂 You seem happy with your decision and I think that makes it the right one! 🙂

And I promise you’ll learn to use a mac, I was a PC girl for 19+ years and I finally figured it out 😉

  13. Allie,
I am sooooo glad that you are going to Seton, because OVU is to far away! Plus if you want… you can leave your computer for me, since you are getting a mac, something to think about… jkjk

  14. Congrats on your final decision. Have you ever heard of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop or the Columbia Publishing Program? Also, have you ever looked into creative writig workshops in pittsburgh. I dated a writer for a while and we used to volunteer at a place in Boston where they held a lot of free writing workshops from poetry to fiction. I would be sort of surprised if pittsburgh didn’t have something similar.
