Lola

Random life

I can assure you, this post probably has no point. It’s just a bunch of random pictures and thoughts. That’s just how I roll sometimes (<— can’t believe I just said that..).I can’t figure out if Lola likes riding in the car or if it makes her nervous. I know she likes when I take her in the car to a park. Sometimes I wish she could talk.

I don’t know how my parents get so tan. Also, how did they manage to match so well? Life questions.

Long runs are the best in parks or on trails. Especially flat parks or trails. Long runs are especially especially fun before the world wakes up. The are not always fun when you’re alone and bored :p.

The zoo! That’s all.

The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival was quite fun. See the guy in the pink tutu? That’s Jimmy. HAHA. Made my life.

New peanut butter!

True story. When Jimmy and I go to the gym together it’s a joke. We end up laughing/messing around the whole time. I love it.

Alright, this has been enough randomness for the day. I could go on and on with pictures and meaningless comments but I have some homework to do. Yeah.. school started. Today has been a pretty lazy day (including a leisurely walk with Lola and some baking) and for that I am glad! Hope your Labor Day is going swell!

Ear Candling

In early June I mentioned that I tried ear candling for the first time. I promised I would post on my experience, so I’m finally getting around to it!A little about ear candling:

  • It’s an alternative medicine practice that is controversial. It is claimed to improve health and well-being.
  • One end of the candle is lit, while the other end is placed in the ear canal. The flame is thought to create negative pressure, drawing wax and other debris from the ear canal.
  • An ear candling session lasts about 20-30 minutes.
  • Research has shown that ear candling is ineffective and does not remove anything from the ear.

After learning all of that, I decided to try it anyways! I bought the candles from GNC for $15.99 with a gift card. Jimmy was with me when I bought them, so he tried it too. We just followed the directions on the package and decided to see what would happen.

The verdict: Residue did show up in the cloth part of the candle, but I honestly don’t think it was wax, I think it was just parts of the candle.

My thoughts: It was a fun experience and I know a lot of people swear ear candling cures headaches, hearing issues, etc., but it didn’t do anything for me except relax me.

So basically, I felt that ear candling didn’t personally do anything for me but it was a relaxing experience.

Other stuff:

Lola is my lil driving buddy and I love her.

Bible verse of the day: “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:15-16
