Jimmy

Fall weekend

My weekend was very fall-ish. I loved it.

I started off the weekend by breaking into my house on Friday night. It was pretty awesome. Jimmy and I went out to dinner and my parents had left the house as well and locked the front door. When I got home, I realized that I didn’t have my house key… so I just climbed through the window and Jimmy took my picture. I typically break into my house 4-5 times a year.

On Saturday I went for an 11 mile run on some killer hills. Jimmy and I went to a pumpkin patch/farmer’s market and he carved a punpkin while I (sadly) did homework. Jimmy carved the word “Minecraft” into his pumpkin. It’s a video game. I just laugh at him sometimes. We roasted pumpkin seeds with Old Bay seasoning. I really want to roast them with cinnamon and sugar next time!

Sunday was spent at church and running a 5k. Sunday was also 47* and rainy.Hannah and I at church.

To not make this post drag on forever (and because I have to leave for school soon), I’m going to blog about the 5k in my next post :).

How was your weekend?

Bible verse of the day: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

Thank You

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say thank you for all of the comments, text messages, and tweets about my sickness and the missed marathon in my last post. You all made me feel a lot better with your kind words and care.

I’d also like to thank whoever invented crackers and DayQuil. It has taken me a few days to regain my strength, appetite, and zest for life in general. I’m honestly still not feeling 100%, but I’m doing much, much better!

I have even managed to dress in real people clothes instead of sweats and large t-shirts. Score.I spent the weekend just hanging out, taking it fairly easy, and enjoying the fall weather. Lola was walked.

A run was.. run. (It was pretty awful because I did it too soon after being sick. Oops. You live and learn.)

Candles were lit.

Work boots were purchased.

Smiles were shared.

It was just the kind of weekend I needed.

It wasn’t the weekend I had planned, but it was better than I could have planned because it was a part of God’s plan. I took it as a sign from Him to slow down and enjoy life and not get caught up in always doing instead of enjoying.

Of course I’m still bummed about the missed race, but it’s no biggie. I’m not sure if I’ll try to find another or if I’m just going to run for the sheer enjoyment of it for now. Any thoughts/input?! I’d love to hear from you 🙂

I hope everyone has a great week. I have an interesting/challenging weekend coming up!
