Our Thanksgiving 2024

How was your Thanksgiving? If you celebrated, I want to hear all about it in the comments! We had a really great day with family. Here’s how our Thanksgiving played out!

We had a pretty chill morning at home, which was so nice! I got a big Etsy order done while Jimmy and the kids played Twister. Have you ever played? I always forget how good it is for teaching young kids right and left! And making adults into pretzels, lol.

I prepped a salad and green bean casserole to bring to my parents’ house and then we made the trek across Pittsburgh to have dinner with them and my sister’s family!

We had some time before dinner, so Jimmy suggested we go on a walk. Alone. Guys… I don’t know the last time I took a walk alone with Jimmy! Thank you mom and dad for watching our kids. It felt downright luxurious, even in the cold 40 degree/rainy weather! Also, let me just note that Jimmy walks way too fast for this pregnant chick with anemia haha. I was huffing and puffing. I am definitely one of those slooow leisure walkers haha.

The kids enjoyed playing at my mom and dad’s house. They’re the type of grandparents who have a crib, bunk beds, high chairs, sippy cups, baby wipes, and toys at their house. They are the very best 🤎

I was able to sneak in some embroidery while the kids played, which was also a treat! I’m *almost* done with my project. Maybe I’ll have it finished up in time to decorate for Christmas?!

Merry Christmas embroidery

My sister’s family arrived and all five grandkids played and played and played. I loved hearing their laughter and seeing their antics play out. We had such a delicious dinner with the usual Thanksgiving suspects: turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie, apple pie, and more.

After dinner, my dad got out his guitar and the kids sang and had a dance party. It was equal parts adorable and hilarious.

Soon enough, it was time for Mordecai to go to bed, so we packed up leftovers (the best!) and headed home. It was such a sweet, happy, fun, and delicious day!

Before I end this post I wanted to share a quick list of things I’m thankful for:

  • God, His Word, and Jesus
  • Family and everyone’s health
  • This sweet baby girl growing inside me
  • Our home, vehicles, running water, and food
  • Books, reading, and homeschooling Sadie girl
  • Candles and hot showers
  • Being home with my kids each day
  • Jimmy and his hard work for our family
  • All of my blog friends!

How was your Thanksgiving?

  1. I LOVE THIS! Our thanksgiving was so awesome – I love seeing the cousins play together – and this year consisted of singing and dancing too! PapPap the one man band and his little singers 🙂

I am SO thankful for God, our family, 8 beautiful, healthy grandchildren, and 3 more will be with us within the next few months!

We are all so close, and have such a special bond – and I love you all so much!
