Two years with the sweetest little guy!

Here’s an update on Mordecai at two-years-old!

Growth 24 lbs, 9.6 oz (12%) and 32 inches (10%).

Wearing 24 month shirts, 18 month pants, 2T pajamas, size four diapers, and size six shoes.

Eating He will try just about anything as long as it isn’t hot. He’s so sensitive and fearful of food being hot to the point that it’s frustrating for us because we know the food we’re feeding him isn’t hot… but he’s worried that it is and will cry out of fear and then hunger. It’s a whole thing, lol. His favorite foods and drinks are salmon, sweet potatoes, pancakes, hot cocoa, peanut butter, smoothies, yogurt, chicken noodle soup, cinnamon rolls, hot dogs, orange juice, and mac and cheese.

Personality Sweet, polite, happy, sensitive, and a little shy!

Nicknames Decky and Deck. A few people at our church call him Morty.

Looks like Mom 😊

Sleeping So well (aside from daylight savings time at the moment 🫠)! He goes down around 7:30 or 8:00 pm and will often sleep until 8:00 am or later if he’s tired.

New Skills Talking and talking and talking! He is stringing together short sentences like “Mom, help me firetruck” (meaning: Mom, I need help fixing this firetruck lego, lol), “Where mote go? Find it?” (where did the remote go? Can we find it?”), “Where sissy is?” (where’s Sadie?)  and one that cracks us up: “I want candy.” He gives hugs and kisses and recognizes my bump as “baby” and says, “awww” and rubs it. He can wash his body in the bath, climb stairs, get on and off the couch, and can run… away from us when we’re trying to get out the door 😂

Likes Sadie–she is his #1 favorite in life and if they spend more then a little bit of time apart he says “Where sissy is?” He’s also a fan of our family, his grandparents, cousins, “The Wheels on The Bus” song, vehicles like trains/fire trucks/garbage trucks, snow, books, playing with Legos, balloons, cars, balls, and Play Doh. He really enjoys coloring, stickers, being outside, going to the library, and watching other kids. He will watch a little bit of TV and his favorite show is Mickey Mouse.

Dislikes Water being poured on his head during bath time, having his diaper changed, and being told it’s time for a nap or bed.

Favorite Products CAT Construction Playset, Lego Duplo fire truck, Play-Doh, washable markers, and construction truck.

Other notes It might be too early to tell, but it’s possible Mordecai is a lefty? I feel like I said the same thing about Sadie at this age and she’s right-handed, so who knows!
