Kids Yoga, Baking Crafts, and Family Time

Is there anything cuter than kids doing yoga together?!

I signed Sadie up for a kids yoga class at our library and the teacher was really wonderful about including siblings (and even parents) who wanted to join in. The kids both enjoyed the class, so we’ll be doing a couple more!

Thank you to everyone who commented about the weird rash/cellulitis situation from my recent post. I was able to schedule an online dermatology appointment and the doctor thought it was poison ivy?! Whatever the case, the rash is finally dissipating! I was having the hardest time sleeping while feeling itchy. It was such a relief that the rash went away… and then Mordecai gave me a cold. So now I’m battling that but it feels like nothing compared to sleeping with an ice pack on my arm 😜

We are using and loving our homeschool room! Sadie finished up her last sign language workbook on the alphabet, so we moved on to one that’s fall-themed. Love it! She was so excited to do a color by number turkey picture that we hung it up. Right next to Mordecai’s adorable scribbles.

Sadie and I have been doing lots of food crafting together lately! I would define food crafting as making edible projects that don’t require intense recipes and are just plain fun. It’s so good for me (as a bakery owner!) to just bake and create for fun, especially while bonding with my favorite girl.

We’ve made chocolate ladybugs.

And fall chocolates with colors!

And last night, we put Rolos on top of pretzels and baked them for a few minutes before putting another on top to make “Rolo hugs” and they were the perfect little dessert after dinner!

Speaking of baking, I’ll be making Sadie’s birthday cake this week! Along with planning that, I’ve been busy in the kitchen with Etsy orders. Lots of birthday-themed chocolate covered Oreos, granola, and wedding-themed chocolate covered Oreos!

I also got to do some really fun baking for a tripe baby shower at our church. One mom is having a boy, one is having a girl, and one is waiting until the birth to find out the baby’s gender. So, I was asked to do cupcakes the corresponded with that. I made vanilla cupcakes with blueberry buttercream, strawberry cupcakes with strawberry buttercream, and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream!

Sadie and Jimmy went camping in our backyard! We did a campfire and smore’s and then Mordecai and I went to bed while those two camped out! Then the next day, Niva jumped on the (brand new) tent and ripped it 🫠

We visited our favorite ice cream shop (hence the chocolate on Mordecai’s face!).

Niva and I have two therapy visits on deck this week! We did one today at the school for Deaf kids and the second visit will be at our homeschool co-op. I’m excited!

I’m also excited for my next post: it’s going to be a day in the life of my little sister, Hannah. The last one she did was in March 2023! Bye until next time 👋🏻

    1. Thank you! It was so fun! The instructor did the yoga in a story format, where the kids were supposed to be a sunflower seed sprouting and growing and she incorporated different yoga poses in the story and it was so engaging!

  1. the homeschool room is PERFECTION! You and Jimmy collaborated very well together to make a calm, beautiful room for your children to learn in! That.floor.tho!

it’s so sweet that Sadie goes to yoga, and that the instructor was kind enough to let siblings and parents tag along for the workout 🤗

I’m not sure what Niva’s vendetta against tents is all about- but maybe yinz should get a camper? 🫤

I love all of your recent baking projects- you’re so talented! I’m sure everyone loves the finished products 🥰

    love you,

    1. Thank you so much! I’m glad you loved the floor!! It was so much work, so it’s awesome to hear that it’s lookin’ good!

The yoga instructor is so awesome! She is really great with kids and makes the class so engaging. Love it!

Niva + tents = no good hahaha. I’m so glad we weren’t in the wilderness far away when that happened or else it would have been a total disaster (more than it already was LOL). I agree… a camper would be SO much fun!

Thank you for your sweet words on my baking! That means the world to me!

      Love you so much!

  2. The yoga is so cute! The baking orders look REALLY good!

The tents and Niva…. I guess not meant to be 🤣?
