I’ve been loving our ordinary weeks. The kind of weeks filled with baking, library trips, and little moments crafting and reading with the kids.
There’s something about this time of year that makes it all feel extra meaningful as we prepare for Easter. We haven’t been up to anything especially big or exciting lately, just the everyday things that end up meaning the most. Here are six moments from our week!
1. Challah 🍞
I baked challah bread for the first time in quite a while! It’s a few steps with kneading, rising, and shaping but always worth it for the delicious bread!
2. Library Time 📕
We spent some time at the library this week! Did Mordecai and Dakota fight over that kitchen set the entire time? Yes. Was it still fun to get out and hang out in my happy place? Absolutely!
3. Cake Pops 🍰
Mordecai and I made cake pops together! He is always so eager to pull up a chair and help me in the kitchen. I will take advantage of that as long as possible. I love spending time baking with him.
4. Car Wash 🧼
I brought the littles along to the car wash on Saturday night. I try to do as much as I can on Saturday to prepare for Sunday and the week ahead. I lay out church clothes, try (and usually fail, ha!) to keep up with laundry and cleaning, do some cooking, and even get the car washed here and there. Little preparations add up!
5. Resurrection Crafts ✝️
The kids did a fun Resurrection craft during school time this week! I really enjoy doing these types of things with them. 😊
6. Easter Books 📚
We also read some of our favorite Easter books this week: A Very Happy Easter Prayer and The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story for Little Ones. It was so sweet to nestle on the couch with the kids and share the story of why we celebrate Easter!
Other Notes and Thoughts 📝
- Scripture I’m loving: God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 🙏🏻
- I can’t wait to see Sadie and Mordecai sing at our church on Easter Sunday! This will be Mordecai’s first time singing in front of a crowd and I’m curious as to how he will like it. 🎵
- It’s getting to be the time of year when Jimmy’s seasonal allergies kick in. I just stocked him up on this homeopathic medicine and Histamine Block. 💊
That’s it for today! We have a fun week ahead: my niece is coming over for the day on Tuesday and we’re going to do our homeschool lesson on Passover. I can’t wait! We’ll also be getting together with family to celebrate Easter. 😊

that challah bread looks absolute perfect – like cook book picture perfect! I’m sure it tasted amazing too! Keeping up with laundry was one thing I also- TRIED to do, but it just always built up so quickly with 3 kids and 1 adults! The cake pops looks amazing too.
I really don’t do anything to prepare for each week anymore.
we do not have any plans for Easter, except church and watching the kids sing 🎶
love you,
Madre
