Half of a year with little Dak! I’m not sure how the past six months have flown by, but here we are.

Six months feels like a big milestone–and it is. Dakota is changing by the day. She’s more interactive, moving constantly, and eating baby food these days! Here’s an update on our big six month old.

Growth 12lb 13oz (3%), 25 in (17%), and 42cm head (44%).

Wearing 3-6 and six month clothes and size 2 diapers.

Eating Mom’s milk and baby food purees! When Dakota was a little over five months, we started experimenting to see if she was ready to try purees and she was more than happy to. She has now had plenty of fruits, a few veggies, rice cereal, peanut butter, and other top allergens via this oatmeal.

Personality This girlie!! This is so sweet I can’t take it. Dakota is pleasant, joyful, and smiley.

Nicknames Her big siblings almost exclusively call her Ko Ko!! Other nicknames include Kota, Kota Bear, Kota B, and Dak.

Sleeping Not great, LOL. She goes to bed around 8:00 pm and is up quite a few times in the night to eat or just roll around in bed. In the day, she takes 2-3 naps. We finally weaned her off of the Merlin sleepsuit (loved that thing!), so she just sleeps on her own or with a blanket.

Looks like Her big brother, Mordecai 🥰 She has light skin, blue eyes, and her hair is… it depends on the lighting?! Sometimes it’s a dark blonde and sometimes it looks reddish brown. Time will tell as it grows!

New skills Sticking her tongue out 24/7, holding toys, starting to sit up unsupported and standing while holding our hands or in a bouncer, and trying to crawl.

Likes Standing, moving, kicking, baby toys and teethers, being held, bath time, baby foods, eye contact, her siblings, being outside, playing in her jumper, watching Hey Bear Dancing Fruit, and our pets.

Dislikes Being put down and being tired.

Favorite products Teething toys, teething gel, bumbo floor seat, bassinet, activity center, foldable bath, diapers, and Montessori toy.

Other notes Dakota is definitely teething (drooling, chewing toys/fingers) but doesn’t have any teeth yet! Her hemangioma continues to be stable (praise God!). She sees the eye doctor next month to check on its size and her vision in that eye. Praying for a good report! Since she’s so tiny (she’s in the third percentile for weight!) the doctor recommended we give her nutrient-dense food more often. Bring on the peanut butter and avocado 💪😬
