A Robot Machine, New Bible Study, and Summer Festival

I mentioned in this post that Jimmy had some big work things coming up. He got a new machine! It’s a robot that cuts steel. He spent the past week in training to learn how to program and use it. The kids and I stopped by a few times (to do school!) and were able to see it in action. It’s pretty cool!

I’ve been continuing to do school with Sadie over the summer. We’re really relaxed about it and just making sure to get some learning in each time we’re at Jimmy’s work, which is a few times a week. She is currently working through All About Reading Level 1, The Good and the Beautiful Math K, Draw Write Now handwriting, Grade 1 geography, learning more ASL, and doing Not Consumed Bible devotionals.

Speaking of devotionals, I started a new Bible study! I finished studying Esther using a study book by Daily Grace Co. and picked up a study of Psalms by the same company. Love it!

On Friday night, we went to a summer festival at a local park and it was such a fun night. Just quintessential summer, you know? The weather was warm, there was live music, food trucks, games, etc.! We sat in the grass and ate ice cream while watching a band perform. Sadie also got her face painted like Hello Kitty. She’s a big Hello Kitty fan 😂

It’s Sunday as I type up this post. We are headed home from church and heading into a busy week. I can’t believe it’s going to be July tomorrow!

How is your summer going?

Do you have any Independence Day plans?

  1. wow, I’d love to see the new machine @ Jimmy’s work!

summer festivals are a lot of fun, especially if the weather cooperates.
my summer has been amazing- lots of beach time with grandkids, and a lot of fun days and small trips ahead!
I plan on marching in the 4th of July parade with our church, then probably heading home till the evening fireworks.

    Love you!

  3. Last year I was talking to my girls and remarked that when they get old enough to be going out on their own, I’ll buy them their first tasers. Grace immediately said she wants a “Hello Kitty” taser.

I was slightly disturbed to learn that there is such a thing as a Hello Kitty taser.
