I’m Officially an Author!

Let’s take a walk down memory lane for a moment. Imagine grade-school-aged Allie with a notebook. I think it was baby blue with sparkly flowers on it. I had a story in my head called “The Land of Animals” and it was all about a girl who entered a place filled with animals.

I wrote the story by hand and my mom helped me polish it up. By polishing it up, I mean she helped me realize some basic things like the fact that “Erin” is a girl name and “Aaron” is a boy name. Thanks, mom!

Childhood me, on the right! Hanging with my brother and sister.

I wish I still had that notebook. I had other notebooks throughout my life. Journals dated back to the early 2000s. Notebooks filled with collages from preteen magazines. Notebooks filled with ideas and dreams and heartaches. Stories written in college.

As long as I can remember, I have wanted to write a book. Now, let’s fast forward to 2015. I had a dream about a story idea and that was it. I started writing my first novel in early 2016.

In 2018, I had my first draft printed so I could edit it. In 2022, I finally finished writing. Now, here we are in 2023 and my novel is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble’s website. How wild is that?

I also published a prayer journal, which is available on Amazon, too. I’ve been a little busy over here!

Is my book perfect? No. Am I glad I finally, finally did it? YES! I have so much gratitude to the Lord for seeing me through this process.

I have a lot more to say, but for now, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has read my blog and encouraged me on this journey!
