Happy eight months to our sweet Mordecai! His first tooth started poking through his gums on the day he turned eight months old. I was so thankful he didn’t put up a fuss about it, either. That’s a testament to his personality–he just goes with the flow.

Here’s how our little guy is growing and developing this month!

Growth Mordecai is now 18 pounds and 26 inches.

Wearing 12 and 18 month clothes and size three diapers.

Eating Mom’s milk and baby food. He also started feeding himself rice rusks this month. I’m hoping to start table foods with him in the next few months as he continues to get more teeth.

Personality Happy, chill, and sensitive. People who first meet Mordecai often say he’s a happy baby and it’s true–he’s very content and goes with the flow. He’s definitely sensitive to loud noises and overstimulation. I can’t wait to see how his personality develops as he grows!

Nicknames Decky and Mordy. We call him Decky and Deck and a mostly everyone at our church calls him Mordy.

Sleeping He wakes up a few times in the night to eat and takes two or three naps a day ranging from 30 minutes to two hours.

Looks Like Me! His skin is fair, his hair is blonde, and his eyes are blue.

New Skills Feeding himself rice rusks at mealtimes, holding his own sippy cup, babbling, and sitting up by himself really well.

Likes His big sister, sucking his thumb, our pets, being held, feeding himself rice rusks, his ball pit, being in water, being outside, and his toys.

Dislikes Being set down, me walking away, being scared or startled, and loud noises.

Favorite products Structured carrier, soft carrier, sign language blocks, ball pit, folding highchair, music toy, rice rusks, sippy cup, straw cup, and stroller.

Other notes Mordecai is sitting up well enough by himself that he can now take baths in our bath tub! He has a physical therapy evaluation coming up to see if he still needs to work on his arm strength. I’m thinking he will continue to need therapy, as he’s not crawling yet, but a lot can change in a month. We’ll see!

That’s everything for Mordecai at eight months. He is such a sweet soul and I continually feel blessed that he’s part of our family. Can’t wait to see what the next month brings with Decky boy!
