Nuts About Granola Giveaway

Hi guys! I have an awesome review and giveaway for you today from Nuts About Granola.

Nuts About Granola is a business located in Pennsylvania that was created by Sarah Lanphier when she was a business student in college. She was the captain of her school’s triathlon team and sold her soon-to-be-famous granola as a fundraiser around campus. She realized that she found her passion in life, and then developed her company in conjunction with her business classes. She launched Nuts About Granola in 2008 with her mom. How amazing is that?!

I was sent a sampler set of granola to review, which included five unique flavors: peanut butter and chocolate, vanilla ginger, peanut butter and jelly, trail mix, and peanut butter. I thought it would be fun to include my family in the review, so I had my mom and Jimmy try some granola along with me and took notes on their thoughts/opinions.

Jimmy tried the chocolate peanut butter (pictured above) and trail mix flavors. Here are his notes!

Lover’s Combo – Peanut Butter and Chocolate
-Milk of choice: whole milk
-Good size clusters of granola
-Good balance of granola and chocolate
-Tasted like Reese’s Cups

Off Road Edition – Trail Mix Granola
-Milk of choice: whole milk
-Nice mix of crunchy and chewy from the clusters, cranberries, and dates
-Tastes adventurous (<– yes, he really said that, lol!)
-Lots of big clusters

I tried the peanut butter and vanilla ginger flavors. Below are my thoughts

Plain Jane – Peanut Butter Granola
-Milk of choice: vanilla almond milk
-Nice and crunchy
-The peanut butter taste wasn’t overwhelming, so it’s definitely a granola I would feel good about eating for breakfast vs. a dessert-type granola, if that makes sense!

Super Seedy – Vanilla Ginger
-Milk of choice: vanilla almond milk
-Loved the seeds, especially the pumpkin and flax
-I tasted an even balance of vanilla and ginger in every bite

My mom tried the peanut butter and jelly and peanut butter flavors. Below are her notes.

College Staple – Peanut Butter and Jelly Granola
-Milk of choice: ultra skim
-Perfect crunchiness
-Really enjoyed all of the cranberries with the peanut butter flavor

Plain Jane – Peanut Butter Granola
-Milk of choice: ultra skim
-Loved the clusters and how big they were
-Had a good peanut butter flavor that wasn’t overwhelming

  1. I love the fact she created this as a fundraiser and turned it into a business. LOVE the stories behind how people go for their dreams. Amazing.

As for the flavors, I think I would go with the chocolate and peanut butter because… well, chocolate and peanut butter. haha!

  2. Hmmm, all of these sound amazing!!! I haven’t been getting enough calcium during this pregnancy, so my goal is to start making fun snacks of yogurt, frozen berries… and granola. So I might have to order some of this yumminess! 🙂 I’m hungry just thinking about it!!
I think that the peanut butter granola sounds absolutely AMAZING!

  3. I would have honestly never thought that the vanilla ginger would sound the best to me. That’s so interesting and I could def go for that. That’s awesome how the buisness formed.

  4. I’d love to try the College Staple/PB&J. Plus I enjoyed reading about the story of how the granola got its start and it’s so neat you had your family members help you sample the granolas!

  5. Love this!! The chocolate peanut butter sounds amazing! You know my love for peanut butter 🙂 I love doing product reviews! Such a great way to try some new goodies!
