Shoe death

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

I love that verse from Zephaniah because it helps me to realize that God is always with me and he always wants what is best for me. He made me and He loves me. I don’t know a better feeling than that!

I put my shoes on for work and realized that I killed them on my trail run on Saturday..

Yep, I was at work when I took that picture. Yep, I took my shoes off.

Needless to say, I need new shoes because you know when you put too many miles on shoes, you can just FEEL it! There goes my paycheck 😉

My mom and I hung out on Friday and it was joyous. She needed to buy new clothes for a trip she is going on. I needed to goof off in dressing room mirrors.

Wearing my guitar hero shirt! You can totally see my mom on the right.. she did buy those pants! LOL.

I need Starbucks anonymous. Soy chocolate smoothie with a shot of espresso for good measure 😉

How do you deal with the high prices of shoes?

P.S. I added some new recipes to my recipe page 😀 (I am totally taking requests too!)

It was an accident

I will admit that I have been keeping a little secret. Kind of.

I MIGHT be running an ultra marathon. Next month. I may or may not have known this for about a month or so. Shall I explain?

An older man who goes to my church ran on the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail in PA with his brother for years when he was in his ‘prime’. They decided to make their running route into a race in the 1980’s. A 77 mile race. The race can be split into a relay, ran individually, or one can complete a 50k.

Jim’s Uncle and I do long runs together whenever we can. We both decided to check out the trail on Saturday morning to see if we wanted to run the 50k next month (we were going to do the relay but can’t find anyone as crazy as us to do it too….). We planned to run from mile 1 to mile 19.

We ended up running 24 miles. It was an accident. We got a little lost! But it ended up being fun.

Thankfully I had some FUEL!

I ended up drinking 2 bottles of water, a bottle of blue Gatorade, 2 energy gels, a banana, sunflower seeds, and a lemon poppy seed muffin. Nummy 🙂

I was a little bit afraid because my long run last week was only 11 miles. 11 miles to 24 miles is a BIT of a jump. So I will be on the look out for ANY pain.. plus I will be taking the next few days off to recoup!

Just thought I’d let everyone in on the possibility of a 50k (30 miles) race next month..

Should I do it?!
