Jim was totally surprised and liked the cake… and the taste!
I know some people were wondering how I did this cake. The bun is two yellow cakes, frosted. The meat patty is a brownie and the condiments are fondant. The sesame seeds are sprinkles 🙂

Some recent eats:
This was my first time trying Amy’s soup and I thought it was kind of spicy.. weird?!
Erika’s Chickpea Feta Salad … it was SO good!
Carrot-ginger soup. Such a good combo. I’ll be posting the recipe soon enough 😉

In other news: Today Jim turns 21 and we are going out with his family to their local Korean restaurant. This restaurant is delish. Jim and I used to be addicted when we were first dating. I love how Korean food clears the sinuses!
I am going to start running today. (Probably 6 miles) I’ll let ya’ll know how I feel and hopefully remember to update my Daily Mile for Hollie, LOLZ.
I plan on taking tomorrow off of running and then on Saturday I’ll legit start my cross country’s program of running 7 days a week nervous muchhhh.

What do you think of Amy’s soups?
Does anyone else feel like running 7 days a week is crazy?
Do you like Korean food?

Wow that chickpea salad looks amazing! I’m a goober for garbanzo beans haha 🙂
I’d be dead running 7 days a week…well at least all of that running will let you get lots of sleep at night! oh and I’m so happy Jim liked the cake, too! Have a great Thursday Allie!
It’s official. You are the cutest thing ever. I mean really. That cake. For real.
Okay, running 7x a week.. I ran yesterday (keep in mind I am thrilled when I can run 5-8 minutes without stopping, I am not some weirdo who gets lost on trails and accidentally runs 20+ miles!) and I don’t feel like I should run again today. Then again my body isn’t as used to running, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Seriously that cake is the bomb.com.
Um DM and bloggie besties! Perfect!
Oh my gosh such a cute cake!!!!! I love it! Buddy Valastro better watch out!!
That’s an awesome cake. It reminds me of Ace of Cakes on food network! Haha. Pure talent. 🙂
Btw I love your daily bible verses 😀
That cake is amazing looking!!
7 days does sound a little crazy. what about rest and cross training??
My cross country coach is having our team run 7x a week .. 😦 ugh haha
That is the most delicious-looking cake I’ve ever seen. Can you bring one to my birthday? 🙂
7 days is a lot, but I have no doubts you’ll conquer it!
I didn’t like the cake, I loved it!!!!!
I love YOU 🙂
Your cake is amazing! And the carrot-ginger cake looks sublime. Can’t wait to see the recipe.
Glad you liked the Chickpea Salad! It’s a favorite in my household.
PS – That hamburger cake is so cute! What a great idea! 😀
My family LOVED the Chickpea Salad.. like soo much. It may become a regular in the dinner rotation 😀
That cake is amazing!!
OMG, that CAKE!! Brilliant! Did you make the fondant, or buy it? And how long have you and the dude been together?
I was going to call running 7 days a week crazy, but then realized that…I run 7 days a week 😀 But maaaaybe 2 miles on each of those. So I can pretend I’m slightly less crazy.
I bought the fondant… but soon I would LOVE to make some :)!!!
We have been together 2 1/2 yeas 🙂
omg! omg! omg! BURGER CAKE!! ❤
So, I take it you weren’t able to rearrange that schedule any…:( Hopefully it will shift to 6 days once school starts.
The chickpeas look yummy! Jim’s cake is rad!! Love the creativity, Allie.
oh that is one AWESOME cake!!! You are very talented!
Yeeess! I like the first picture. Heheee you guys are so cute. The salad looks amazing too. And Korean food is one of my favorite, but we have to drive 30 minutes to eat a very authentic Korean food. But you will be surprised… whole street (big major street) full of Korean markets and Korean restaurants. Food is amazing!!! SF Bay Area is like an international food court. LOL.
My parents totally used to have those plates! Ah, childhood.
i love all things korean ( even the pickled raw crab – though it takes some time )
that is a awesome cheeseburger cake allie ! i would so cry if i got that for my birthday ,
i’m always excited to hear more about your running girl 🙂
MAD skillz.
I know you ate some extra Kimchi for me, too.
I don’t feel like running 7x a week is crazy. As long as your runs vary and you cross train. I use to run 7x a week. Now I add more variety to my workouts.
Such a cute cake, I love it!
Wow, running 7 days a week! I used to do that too, but a couple of years ago…I am not sure if I had the stamina to that again 🙂
Korean food is tasty, I like it a lot! And how cute is that picture with Jim “eating” the cake 🙂
I need rest days or at least cross training days. Actually, at the moment I am proud that I even get out and run a few days a week =)
that cake is amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing!! fabulous job!!
I don’t think running 7 days a week is healthy……it’s super hard on your joints! But I have also had a lot of problem with my joints (been told not to run by doctors before) and my mama is a doc and has terrible knees partly from running…………….. so just be careful, love!
HAPPY WEEKEND
Happy birthday Jim! And happy longggg weekend to you my dear!
Hahahaha, the cake is hilarious! Love the carrot and ginger soup, that’s one of my favorites! 🙂
that cake is so cool! and very creative. 🙂
for me, running 7d/wk is a lot. i don’t think my knees could handle it. but then again, i think it also depends on how far you run…maybe it’s just one of those individual things?
Amy’s soups are SO great but usually high in sodium (I’m a salt head though so love it). I need break days for my joints when working out- 7 days is a lot. AND that cake is AMAZING
That is one of the cutest cakes I have EVER seen. Seriously, you should be a baker! I love it!
